XENIX:

Operating system developed by Microsoft that follows the Unix specifications.

X.25:

Data transmission protocol for connecting computers to public packet-switched networks. It has been largely replaced by other technologies, such as frame relay. X.400 (X.400) CCITT and ISO standards for electronic mail. Used primarily in Europe and Canada, they have been progressively integrated into the Internet.

XDSL:

X Digital Subscribe Line. Digital Subscription Lines. Transmission technology that allows conventional copper telephone wires to transport up to 16 Mbps (megabits per second) using compression techniques. There are various modalities of this technology, such as ADSL, HDSL RADSL, with ADSL being the most widely used currently.

XEON:

It is a 400 MHz Pentium microprocessor made by Intel for servers and workstations and is designed for the Internet, large databases, as well as engineering, graphics, and multimedia applications that require a lot of data movement quickly. In the Pentium line, Xeon is currently the most powerful (with Celeron being the least powerful).

XHTML:

Extensible HyperText Markup Language. XHTML is basically HTML expressed as valid XML. It is more technically strict, but this makes it easier to make changes later, check for errors, etc.

XML:

Extensible Markup Language. Language Extensible Markup Language. Language developed by the W3 Consortium to allow the description of information contained in the WWW through common standards and formats, so that both Internet users and specific programs (agents) can search, compare and XULshare information on the network. The XML format is very similar to that of HTML although it is not an extension or a component of it.

XMODEM:

Protocol used to transfer files from a server to a computer connected via modem, which is mainly used to retrieve files from a BBS.

YTALK:

A UNIX-based program similar to IRC that allows real-time communication between multiple users.

YOUTUBE:

It is an Internet portal that allows its users to upload and view videos.
